Have You Heard of Slow Down or Move Over Laws in Your State?

Over 200 roadside workers lose their lives every year in the line of duty according to statistics from the National Traffic Incident Management Coalition. This is in addition to the more than 150 U.S. Law Enforcement Officers that have lost their lives roadside since 1997. These statistics are a driving factor behind the Slow Down or Move Over laws that have been enacted in all 50 states.

Slow Down or Move Over laws state that when there is a law enforcement officer, emergency worker or tow truck driver on the side of the road with their emergency flashers on you are required by law to merge into the other lane. If you are unable to merge, simply slow down to 15 miles below the posted speed limit when passing to help ensure safety.

If you were not aware of these laws, we here at Autoworld Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM are glad that you read this article and hope that you will share it with others because according to statistics over 71% of US drivers have never heard of these laws.
